ISC2 Offers Free Cybersecurity Training and Certification to Address Skills Gap

Bangalore, India - In a significant move to address the widening cybersecurity skills gap, ISC2, a leading non-profit organization specializing in IT security certifications, has announced that it is offering free Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) Online Self-Paced Training and exams to one million individuals globally. This initiative aims to provide a pathway into the cybersecurity field for more people, including those with no prior experience.

The Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) certification is designed to provide foundational knowledge and skills in key cybersecurity areas. The training covers five domains: Security Principles, Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) Concepts, Access Controls, Network Security, and Security Operations. By completing this training and obtaining the certification, individuals can demonstrate they have the basic competence needed for entry-level cybersecurity roles.

"With the increasing number of cyberattacks and the growing reliance on digital infrastructure, the need for skilled cybersecurity professionals has never been greater," said Clar Rosso, CEO of ISC2. "This initiative is a direct response to that need. By removing the financial barrier to entry, we hope to attract a more diverse workforce to this critical field."

The program includes:

  • Official ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity Online Self-Paced Training
  • Opportunity to register for the free certification exam
  • ISC2 Candidate benefits

To participate, individuals create an ISC2 account, complete an application, and select the Certified in Cybersecurity certification. After completing the training, candidates can schedule their exam. ISC2 provides flexibility in scheduling, allowing candidates to choose a date and time that is convenient for them. It's recommended that candidates check the ISC2 website for the most up-to-date information on exam scheduling and availability. Upon passing the exam, candidates will need to pay a US$50 Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) to become a certified member of ISC2.

This initiative by ISC2 is expected to significantly boost the number of certified cybersecurity professionals and contribute to a more secure digital world.
