CBSE to Install "Sugar Boards" in Schools by July 2025 to Raise Health Awareness
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the CBSE’s new initiative to install “Sugar Boards” in schools across India. These visual displays aim to educate students on the dangers of high sugar consumption, especially from junk food.
- Recommended daily sugar limits
- Sugar content in popular junk foods
- Health risks such as Type 2 diabetes and obesity
- Healthier food alternatives
This move is a response to the rising incidence of sugar-related health issues among Indian children.
In his 'Mann Ki Baat' address, PM Modi appreciated the initiative’s potential to positively influence children's food choices, and encouraged similar efforts in other institutions.
- Deadline: All CBSE-affiliated schools are directed to install the boards and run awareness programs by July 15, 2025.
