YouTube CEO Neal Mohan has revealed that the platform has contributed significantly to the Indian creator economy, paying over ₹21,000 crore to Indian creators, artists, and media companies in the last three years.

Mohan made these remarks during a session on 'Powering the Creator Economy in India' at the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES).

During his address, Mohan also highlighted the impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's digital presence, stating, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary leadership has made India a beacon for creators all over the world, which is evident by his own remarkable digital presence."

Mohan noted that Prime Minister Modi has over 25 million subscribers on YouTube, making him the most followed head of government on the platform globally.
